Public engagement has concluded for this project.

The Gotta Go project would provide restroom facilities along a portion of the Alaska Highway. If you live in Electoral Area B, Hudson’s Hope, Taylor, Chetwynd, or Tumbler Ridge, this will affect your taxes if approved.

If you approve of the Gotta Go Roadside Facilities Service Establishment Bylaw No. 2440, 2021, no action is needed.

If you are opposed to the PRRD adopting Gotta Go Roadside Facilities Service Establishment Bylaw No.2440, 2021 without holding a referendum, you may submit an Elector Response Form to the Corporate Office on or before 4:30 on July 30, 2021.

Anticipated Costs

If the AAP for Gotta Go Roadside Facilities Service Establishment Bylaw No. 2440, 2021 receives the approval of the electors, the annual cost of providing the Service within the service area boundary shall be recovered by one or more of the following: 

  • Property value tax imposed pursuant to the provisions of the Act, levied against the net taxable value of land and improvements 
  • Revenues raised by other means authorized by the Act, or another Act
  • Revenues raised by way of agreement, enterprise, gift, grant, or otherwise
  • Imposition of user fees and other charges that may be specified by a separate bylaw 


Anticipated costs for the proposed Gotta Go function include: 

  • Annual maintenance for the km 319 Trutch and km 250 Sikanni Hill location 
  • Development, maintenance and replacement costs of cellular boosters if required 


Tax Calculator
The total cost of the project is based on an annual operating budget of $300,000. The maximum requisition limit that may be requisitioned in any one year for the service is the greater of $300,000, or an amount equal to the amount that could be raised by a properly value tax of $0.0249/$1,000 when applied to the net taxable value of land and improvements in the service area.
