The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has started a design study to identify and plan for enhancements to safety, accessibility and overall appeal of Spencer Tuck Regional Park.

The study will examine challenges such as traffic flow, parking, washrooms and boat launch access. It will also evaluate whether the boat launch needs repairs or replacement. After completing the study, a plan will be developed to address the current and future needs of park visitors and other interest groups.

The PRRD is committed to cultural safety and meaningful collaboration with all local partners and interest groups throughout the planning process. Local First Nations Land Use Departments have been notified and invited to engage on the design study at Spencer Tuck Regional Park.

We value community input and will be engaging with you through online surveys, open houses—both in-person and virtual—and meetings with interest groups to shape this project together!

We are excited to announce that the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is kicking off a design study for Spencer Tuck Regional Park! This study aims to identify enhancements to safety, accessibility and overall appeal at the park. As part of this effort, we'll also be looking at the park's boat launch to see whether the best course of action is repair or replacement. Spencer Tuck Regional Park is a charming 5.18-hectare spot on the north side of Moberly Lake, about 32 km north of Chetwynd. The lake itself stretches 14 km with a 41 km shoreline. This day-use park offers five (5) fire pits and picnic tables, an outhouse, short walking trails and the only public boat launch on the lake's north side. It's especially popular in summer.

The park is bordered by private properties, with a transportation right of way running through it. Since 2023, the park has been closed during winter months.
