Consultation has concluded for this project. If you have any questions please direct them to community.services@prrd.bc.ca. Thank you for providing your feedback on the Lone Prairie Park project.

In the summer of 2021, the Peace River Regional District was investigating the possibility of developing a community park in Lone Prairie. Due to the lack of strong community support, the Lone Prairie Community Park project was discontinued this September. Thanks to everyone in the community who responded to the survey, your input was invaluable to this decision made.

Why was the project discontinued?

Each person who owned property in the Lone Prairie community was mailed a letter introducing the project, and a survey to find out if residents were interested in a park, if so what features and activities could have been included in the park, and possible locations for a park. When the surveys were evaluated, it turned out that Lone Prairie residents were generally not in support of the project. You can find the full survey responses here.

The Peace River Regional District is investigating the possibility of developing a community park in Lone Prairie. The first step in the process is to find out from you if residents are interested in a park, if so what features and activities could be included in the park, and possible locations for a park.

Once the surveys have been compiled and if there is sufficient interest to move forward with the project, the PRRD will host a community meeting to discuss:

    • results of the survey
    • possible costs/funding sources
    • timelines
    • possible site locations.
