Recruitment for the 2025 season has closed. However, if you're interested in joining the Charlie Lake Fire Department (CLFD), add your name to the application list for 2026!

The CLFD recruits volunteers annually. If you live within a 15-minute drive of Charlie Lake and are looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity to serve your community, we want to hear from you.

New recruits undergo six months of training through our orientation program, followed by a probation period focusing on NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 1001 Level 2 Standard training. Upon successful completion, recruits become full-fledged firefighters, joining our team of approximately 24 NFPA Level 2 trained members.

  • Share Hello, two others and I are potentially interested in joining the CLFD. Our questions are: Is there a place we can see the fitness standards test in order to meet/exceed before the intake? We have access to a gym and fire hose/equipment if that is required. As we have to keep up with our company's own fire training: Is there some flexibility in the attendance of the 75% nightly training? Some months we will be able to do more and some less. Thank you for your time and please let me know if you have any questions. Regards, Luke Coburn on Facebook Share Hello, two others and I are potentially interested in joining the CLFD.
