Tax Cost Calculators
Development of a community hall or an outdoor recreation space would have ongoing expenses that would be paid for through taxation.
The taxation estimates that have been developed are based off a proposed service area map, which you can find posted to this page. Estimates for tax rates are calculated on the value of all improvements (this includes taxing on buildings only and does not include the value of the land).
The taxation numbers that were used for the calculations below are based on 2024 assessment data.
Costs for the Community Hall include:
- Initial capital borrowing costs
- PRRD Expenses (wages, benefits, property insurance, safety and danger tree removal)
- Grant to Society (utilities, internet access, liability insurance, maintenance, janitorial supplies, health permitting)
- Capital Reserve Contributions (held by the Regional District to fund future large-scale repairs and upgrades)
- Annual debt repayment
Estimated annual cost: $140,047 for 30 years, which will increase based on inflation and actual costs.
Costs for the Outdoor Community Space include;
- Initial construction costs
- PRRD Expenses (wages, benefits, property insurance, safety and danger tree removal)
- Grant to Society (utilities, internet access, liability insurance, maintenance, janitorial supplies, health permitting)
- Capital Reserve Contributions (held by the Regional District to fund future large-scale repairs and upgrades)
Estimated annual cost: $22,340 for 30 years, which will increase based on inflation and actual costs.
