Round 2 Concept Options and Costs

The Peace River Regional District has developed six concept options and estimated costs based on feedback from the last round of community engagement in June 2025. Note that any projects with a construction cost over $500,000 will include borrowing; this borrowing repayment will be included in the annual operating costs. Operating costs include things like utilities, insurance and saving for future projects.

We need resident feedback on which of the following six concept options and associated costs is most preferred. Take the online survey by April 1, 2026 at 4:30 pm to help shape the next steps, which could include a public vote (referendum) in October 2026.

These concepts show general structure ideas, what other amenities are included and associated estimated costs. Further defined design details and layout come after a referendum, if one is approved.

How to calculate what your estimated annual taxes would be:

  • Go to the BC Assessment website (bcassessment.ca) and enter your address in the 'Find your property assessment' field
  • View your property assessment and find the "Improvements Only" amount (this is for the value of your building, not your land)
  • Take the "Improvements Only" amount and divide by 1000, then multiply by the tax rate below for your preferred option
  • For example, if your house is worth $150,000 and you want to calculate the annual tax for Option 1:
    • $150,000/1000 = 150
    • 150 x $0.48 = $72 annually 
    • *Please note that these cost estimates are based on 2025 assessed values, so your calculations may differ slightly

Option 2, Estimated Tax Rate $0.61/$1000: Outdoor Pavilion


Option 3, Estimated Tax Rate $0.67/$1000: Outdoor Pavilion and Recreation Amenities


Option 4, Estimated Tax Rate $1.02/$1000: Small, Basic, Serviced Hall


Option 5, Estimated Tax Rate $1.14/$1000: Small, basic, serviced hall and recreation amenities


Option 6, $0/N/A: No Further Development
