Project background
In 2020, the PRRD conducted a feasibility study in Wonowon after residents expressed safety concerns for pedestrians and children walking to and from Wonowon Elementary School in low-light conditions. Residents have also expressed concerns about dust level, mud and roughness on area roads.
Wonowon Road, Wonowon Subdivision Road, and Wonowon Extension Road were all studied for the following options:
- development of a trail along the existing roads
- streetlighting on either the roads, trail or both
- upgrades to the existing road
