Regional Zoning Bylaw Survey
You’re invited to participate in the first survey for the new Regional Zoning Bylaw. This survey is to help us understand what residents would like to see for accessory building, home-based business and secondary suite/detached suite regulations. Please complete the survey to inform future engagements and the regulations within the draft zoning bylaw.
The survey is open from March 20, 2025 to May 30, 2025, at 4:30pm PST. You can also contact the Peace River Regional District at 250-784-3200 or email planning@prrd.bc.ca to request a hard copy to provide your feedback.
Background
The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is developing a new Regional Zoning Bylaw to modernize and replace the existing five Zoning Bylaws, the earliest of which dates to 1976. Zoning Bylaws are essential as they regulate what can be done on a property.
These regulations cover a variety of aspects, such as the number of dwelling units, setbacks from property lines, the maximum allowable floor area for accessory buildings and regulations for home-based businesses. They also determine whether a property can be utilized for agricultural, residential, industrial or commercial purposes.
