Regional Zoning Bylaw Survey #2

Important: This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

You’re invited to participate in the development of the new Regional Zoning Bylaw. The draft bylaw was given 1st Reading by the Regional Board on September 18, 2025 and we want to understand if the draft bylaw meets the needs of residents.

Zoning bylaws are intended to be read as a whole, as different sections regulate different aspects of use and development of a property.

Please review the draft bylaw prior to beginning this survey.

The survey is open from October 1, 2025 to November 302025, at 4:30pm PST. You can also contact the Peace River Regional District at 250-784-3200 or email planning@prrd.bc.ca to request a hard copy to provide your feedback.

Background

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is developing a new Regional Zoning Bylaw to modernize and replace the existing five Zoning Bylaws, the earliest of which dates to 1976. Zoning Bylaws are essential as they regulate what can be done on a property.

These regulations cover a variety of aspects, such as the number of dwelling units, setbacks from property lines, the maximum allowable floor area for accessory buildings and regulations for home-based businesses. They also determine whether a property can be utilized for agricultural, residential, industrial or commercial purposes.
