At the April 16, 2026 Regional Board Meeting, the Board directed staff to provide options for grandfathering properties and information on types of suites permitted in the new bylaw. The information report on grandfathering and suites was provided on April 30, 2026 along with the report for 2nd Reading of the bylaw. The Regional Board did not give 2nd Reading and instead referred the bylaw to the Electoral Area Directors Committee for discussion.

On May 7, 2026 the Electoral Area Directors Committee made 4 recommendations to the Regional Board requesting additional information reports from staff includindg preparing an itemized list of all parcels undergoing a major zone change (ie. residential to light industrial), differences between old zones and proposed new zones, identifying all regulatory changes, determining whether study zrea zones may be created and potential additional uses for agricultural parcels outside of the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR). Should the Regional Board support the requests, staff will work on preparing the requested information.
