The Osborn Hall Replacement Project is starting up again!

The Osborn Community Hall has been closed since 2019 because of serious structural problems that would make it very expensive to repair or replace. Starting in 2020, the Peace River Regional District (PRRD worked with the Osborn community to determine support on replacement options, space options and design presentations for the site at 17526 Siphon Creek Road.

Project Timeline and New Challenges

After public discussions, the community showed support for a community hall design proposed in 2021. The project was delayed later that year while we waited for updated community hall costs and for taxation information from BC Assessment to figure out the details of setting up a potential proposed service (taxation) area to help pay for a new community space in Osborn.

While the delay has been longer than we expected, we are coming back to the community with estimated costs on the supported community hall and a second development option of an outdoor recreation space.

Your Feedback Matters to Build Community Consensus

We need your input on all the available options, including building the hall, creating an outdoor recreation space or even leaving the site empty. Your feedback through the survey and community meeting will build a community census for consideration by the PRRD Board. This information will help them decide the best way forward. It's really important to review both of the options presented, as well as what the taxation might mean to you. Take a close look at the Designs and Costs and the Taxation numbers before completing the survey.

Take the online survey open until July 25, and plan to join us at the Cecil Lake Hall on July 15, 2025 at 7pm to 8:30pm to learn more and ask questions!
